French submissions for Shortlist Oscars

The French Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Techniques has announced its shortlisted films for the 2023 Oscars. The films are competing for the Best International Feature Film award.

The three films are all critically acclaimed and have been screened at major international film festivals.

Emilia Perez tells the story of a young woman who is forced to confront her past after she is diagnosed with a terminal illness. The film stars Noémie Merlant and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.

Misericordia is a drama about a young woman who works as a nurse in a hospital. The film stars Suzanne Clément and Antoine Reinartz.

All We Imagine As Light is a historical drama about the Selk'nam people of Tierra del Fuego. The film stars Alfredo Castro and Catalina Saavedra.

The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12, 2023. The winner of the Best International Feature Film award will be announced at the ceremony.
