Chicago Bulls have signed All-Star forward DeMar DeRozan to a three-year, $85 million contract. The deal includes a fully guaranteed $81.9 million and will pay DeRozan an average annual salary of approximately $28.3 million.

Rookie Scale Contract and Early Career

DeRozan's journey in the NBA began in 2009 when he signed a rookie scale contract with the Toronto Raptors as the fourth participant in the 2010 Sprite Slam Dunk Competition. Despite not securing the victory in the competition, DeRozan established himself as a promising young talent.

Trade to San Antonio and Sign-and-Trade to Chicago

In 2018, DeRozan was traded to the San Antonio Spurs as part of the blockbuster deal that sent Kawhi Leonard to Toronto. After four seasons with the Spurs, DeRozan signed a three-year, $85 million contract with San Antonio in 2021. However, his stay in San Antonio was short-lived, as he was subsequently traded to the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday as part of a sign-and-trade agreement.
