William Theodore "WEB" Walton III was born on November 5, 1952, in La Mesa, California. Standing tall at 6'11", the towering center began his basketball journey at UCLA, where he led the Bruins to two national championships in 1972 and 1973. His impressive performance earned him the title of National College Player of the Year in 1974.

After his collegiate success, Walton embarked on a professional basketball career, drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers as the first overall pick in the 1974 NBA draft.
